The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has agreed to lend 4.5 billion dollars to Bangladesh.
According to the British news agency, Bangladeshi Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said that a staff-level agreement has been reached with the IMF, and the IMF has given temporary approval for a $4.5 billion aid program
The Bangladesh Finance Minister says that the agreement will help prevent economic instability from becoming an economic crisis.
According to the news agency, the IMF board is expected to approve the loan for Bangladesh in the next few weeks.
It should be noted that Bangladesh has been facing inflation and currency depreciation for several months, after Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Bangladesh is the third country in South Asia to borrow from the IMF.
