Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud was sworn in as the 50th Chief Justice of India.
According to Indian media, the swearing-in ceremony of Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where Indian President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath to Justice Dhananjaya as the 50th Chief Justice.
Justice Dhananjaya will serve as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court for 2 years.
Speaking to the media after the ceremony, the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India Dhananjaya Y said that my priorities are to serve the common citizen, not my words but my work will speak.
Justice Dhananjaya is the son of the late Justice YV Chandrachud, Justice YV Chandrachud was the longest-serving Chief Justice of India who held the office for 7 years.
