ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Athar Minullah remarked during the hearing of the resignation case of PTI members that the people have trusted and sent the representatives to the parliament, whose resignations were not accepted, they went and sat in the parliament.
Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Athar Minullah heard the petition of 10 resigned members of the assembly of PTI, in which PTI’s lawyer Barrister Ali Zafar appeared in the court.
Justice Athar said that the court respects the parliament, is this the policy of the political party? The resignations of the rest have not been accepted yet, the people have trusted and sent the representatives to the parliament.
The petitioner said that the court should direct the Speaker to fulfill his responsibility regarding the acceptance of resignations. Justice Athar Minullah said that this court cannot issue instructions to the Speaker of the National Assembly. Just asked for a revision.
Justice Athar Manullah said that these are political disputes, Parliament is the place to resolve political disputes, and you should have a dialogue with political parties to solve the problems, do these resigned members really want to go to Parliament and serve the people. ? It is the duty of these members to represent the people in the Parliament, this is not only the problem of the members but also the people of the constituency who are without representation.
The Chief Justice said that in 70 years, the courts were involved in many political matters, which caused damage to the judiciary.
Barrister Ali Zafar said in his arguments that if you suspend the resignation approval order, you can go and talk to the Speaker, on this Justice Athar said that the court will not facilitate you for political dialogue, the petitioners said. They do not believe in the parliament, they want to maintain political instability which is not in the interest of the country, you should go to the parliament and prove your good intentions, the parliament has been disrespected.
