Russian President Vladimir Putin may announce the annexation of Moscow-controlled Ukrainian territories to Russia in a few days.
According to the British broadcasting agency BBC, the British Ministry of Defense says that Vladimir Putin may announce the annexation of the occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia in a few days.
Referendums to join Russia were held in Moscow-controlled Ukrainian regions of Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia, which ended on Tuesday after 5 days.
Russia said preliminary results of referendums on Russian soil indicated that voters in those regions overwhelmingly supported annexation
According to Russian state media, it is likely that President Vladimir Putin will announce the annexation of Ukrainian regions to Russia during his address to both houses of parliament on Friday.
On the other hand, Kyiv and Western countries have rejected the referendum. Ukrainian President Zelensky has said that Donetsk region will remain of Ukraine.
It should be noted that earlier the US Ambassador to the United Nations had condemned the proposed referendums and announced not to recognize the results.
