Ukraine has said it fears Russian attacks on its energy system could make the capital Kyiv vulnerable in winter.
Ukraine has also demanded that Western powers provide air defense technology to protect its energy system.
It should be noted that in recent days Russia has attacked the centers of Ukraine’s energy system, due to which several eastern regions experienced a blackout.
“We expect the number of such attacks to increase and we are prepared for different scenarios,” said Mykhailo Podolyak, a senior adviser to the president of Ukraine.
He said that the Ukrainian people should be prepared for difficulties in obtaining electricity and heating this winter.
Temperatures in Ukraine usually drop to minus 15 degrees Celsius during winter.
Mykhailo Podolyak said that Ukraine is expecting a difficult winter this time and that is why we are asking our foreign allies to provide air defense systems to protect the basic infrastructure.
He said that now the ball is in the court of our partners.
A spokesman for the Russian Energy Minister said that at the moment, all grids in Ukraine can be targeted by Russian missiles.
