During the flight of an aircraft, both pilots fell asleep at an altitude of 37,000 feet and failed to land.
On August 15, this strange incident happened in Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 343 from Sudan to Ethiopia.
The two pilots controlling the Boeing 737 were supposed to end their journey at Addis Ababa airport, but the data showed that they passed over it.
When the plane reached Addis Ababa, it was on autopilot mode and both pilots were asleep.
Air traffic control tried to wake up both pilots but failed.
Both pilots woke up when the autopilot mode was disconnected and the alarm sounded.
At this point they probably got upset and then turned the plane back and made a second attempt to land the plane.
The data confirmed that the plane was at an altitude of 37,000 feet when it first passed over the airport.
After the second attempt, they managed to land the plane safely 25 minutes late.
After landing, the plane stayed at the airport for two and a half hours and then left for its next journey.
Aviation analyst Alex Macheras tweeted about the incident and shared a photo of the plane’s route.
