An Iranian citizen involved in the failed plot to kill National Security Advisor John Bolton during the administration of former President Donald Trump has been indicted in the United States.
According to the American media, 45-year-old Shahrampur Safi allegedly wanted to take revenge for the killing of General Qassem Soleimani.
Iran’s General Qassem Soleimani was the target of a drone attack by the United States in January 2020. He was the commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.
According to American media, Poursafi, who planned to kill former National Security Advisor John Bolton, is also related to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.
The US Department of Justice says that Poursafi had offered to pay $300,000 to a citizen in the US for Bolton’s murder.
According to reports, the United States has also released a poster declaring Iranian citizen Poursafi as the most wanted.
