The head of Instagram has said that the company will continue to prioritize video in the app.
The statement came after Kylie Jenner, the most followed woman on Instagram, criticized the Meta-owned app for making it look like TikTok.
The Instagram chief posted the video in a tweet, saying the app’s transition from photos to video will continue.
“I believe Instagram will become more of a video content app over time,” he said.
He said that the support for photos will remain in the app, but the behavior of users is changing as they watch and share videos and we have to bow to this change.
It should be noted that Kylie Jenner while sharing another user’s post in Instagram Stories, demanded that Instagram make the app back to what it used to be.
The post read ‘Instagram should be Instagram again, don’t try to be like Tik Tok, we just want good photos of our friends.
Kylie Jenner’s sister Kim Kardashian also shared the same post which was liked by millions of people.
The Instagram app has changed rapidly in recent months as the company focuses more on Rails to compete with TikTok.
Even all videos on Instagram are now being made part of Live Reels.
